My understanding is that the current generation of Yamaha drives do not
support packet writing, and it will take more than a firmware fix to make
them do so. Adaptec's DirectCD solution for packet writing, due out by
the end of this year, will initially support the Philips 2000 family, and
probably also the Sony 920 and up.
