If you have not tried lyx-0.11.49 yet:
 1. download lyx-0.11.49 & snapshot
 2. unpack lyx-0.11.49
 3. remove XFree86/lib/X11/lyx/doc/LaTeXConfig.lyx
 4. remove XFree86/lib/X11/lyx/doc/Tutorial.lyx
 5. remove XFree86/lib/X11/lyx/examples/LongTable.lyx
 6. remove XFree86/lib/X11/lyx/examples/MultirowTable.lyx
 7. unpack snapshot (overwrite All)
 8. run LyX

If you have already tried lyx-0.11.49:
 1. download snapshot
 2. remove files as in the above procedure 3.--6.
 3. remove the corresponding files in $HOME/.lyx/doc & $HOME/.lyx/examples
 4. unpack snapshot (overwrite All)
 5. run LyX
 6. from the menu, choose Options->Reconfigure
