SYSXDMP1.ZIP An OS/2 "version" of MIDIEX. Allows transferring MIDI System Exclusive dumps to/from your computer and a MIDI unit. Such dumps typically include waveform or patch-setup data. The data can then be stored on your computer's storage media (ie, HD or floppy), and later sent back to the MIDI unit in order to restore its settings/sounds. In addition to non-handshaking transfers for all MIDI gear, SysXDump implements handshaking for Roland gear and also samplers that do MIDI Sample Dump Standard (SDS) dumps (ie, Akai S-1000 and derivatives, EMU Emax and Emulator, Peavey SX and SP, etc), thus improving the speed of dumps as well as error checking of data. It saves SDS dumps as WAVE files so that you can load and edit the waveform data using Wave Editing software, plus SysXDump sends WAVE files out as an SDS dump to a sampler. Other System Exclusive data is stored in standard MIDI files, so that you can load and play these using any MIDI sequencer that supports System Exclusive. SysXDump also works with gear that sends out "active sense" (ie, lots of Roland stuff). For SDS, allows you to request a dump from the external unit so that you never have to initiate dumps from the MIDI unit. Includes PM and command line versions. Requires MPUDEV driver or equivalent.
