An OS/2 presentation manager app. Displays a window with a graphical piano
keyboard and sliders and buttons. Use the mouse to click notes on the
keyboard, and the app sends appropriate Note On and Note Off MIDI messages
out of your MIDI interface. So, you can use it as a controller to play and
test external MIDI gear. (For sound cards whose MIDI interface is tied to
an internal "MIDI Synth", as most are, you can use this app to play your
card's internal sounds). There are many graphical sliders which output
various MIDI messages such as Channel Pressure, Aftertouch, Volume, Mod
Wheel, Pitch wheel, etc, so that you can test how your MIDI unit is
responding to these messages. Furthermore, you can select Program Changes
from a list of GM Patches. PM Piano can generate messages on all MIDI
channels simultaneously, or only ones that you select. PM Piano also turns
your computer keyboard into a Piano keyboard. Requires MPUDEV driver or
equivalent.
